Dana & Ronnie knew that they wanted a destination wedding, but with the pandemic, they weren’t sure where they should go! Key West ended up being the perfect spot for them with the gorgeous views, amazing vendors, and tropical vibes. Plus, Dana grew up going to Key West, so it was also an intentional and meaningful place for the bride. As a Key West photographer, I loved being able to capture this beautiful couple exploring this historic city on their special day!

Key West Destination Wedding

The week before the wedding, the wind was insane and the waters were so rough, and we still had storms the morning of the wedding! I showed up to the Kimpton Winslow’s Bungalows Hotel for the getting ready photos, and it was a miracle that the rain stopped before their first look. We couldn’t take pictures at their venue before the wedding because it is an old historic museum, so we took photos around the Truman Annex and around the banyan tree. There are so many beautiful locations to take photos in Key West!

Historic Audubon House & Tropical Gardens

The wedding ceremony and reception was at the Audubon House & Tropical Gardens, and it was breathtakingly beautiful with its romantic and tropical setting. There were 30 guests, so it was a very intimate ceremony and celebration. It was so intentional, and it truly was the perfect venue for Dana & Ronnie.

Also, we got to take photos in the room that is being called the most instagrammable room on the island! It’s on the third floor of the Audubon House (apparently it’s haunted), and it has some crazy history. But look at how fun the room is!

Vendors I recommend as a Key West Photographer

The vendors for this destination wedding were SO GOOD! I was blown away by the beauty and service from everyone involved. Honestly, the food was probably the best food that I have ever had at a wedding! They made it right in front of you and it was so fresh and flavorful. They even had fresh sauces for every one of the different meats! The wedding planner and the day of coordinator were outstanding, and the florals had the perfect tropical vibe. I would highly recommend checking them all out for your Key West destination wedding or elopement!
